Meet the team

Mike Farnworth MA (Hons) MSc MCIPS MCMI MIC

Mike held senior procurement positions in BMW Group global purchasing. He was a key player in the BMW Group management team tasked with achieving post-merger synergy and process harmonisation, and led the purchasing operations activity at the Oxford MINI Plant. Combining consultancy and training activities in procurement and supply chain, Mike has developed and led improvement programmes across sectors. He has participated in the following programmes: DTI National Supply Chain Group Assessment Panel; SMMT Industry Forum Action Group; Birmingham Chamber Accelerate Partnership & Executive; Northwest Automotive Alliance Supply Chain Group; MAS-NW Supply Chain programme; and as a Merseyside Automotive Group Board member. Mike has spent the last twelve months as Project Director for the Furness Economic Development Forum Supply Chain Initiative.

 

Clare Farnworth BSc (Hons) MCIPS

Clare spent more than twenty years in the automotive industry holding purchasing management positions with Rover Group, BMW Group, Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin divisions of Ford’s Premier Automotive Group. Since 2009 Clare has held positions as Senior Assessor for the CIPS Sustainable Procurement unit and member of the CIPS Certification Board. In 2013 Clare joined the CIPS new qualifications assessment team specialising in the areas of supply chain workflow, sourcing, risk management and sustainable procurement. Clare is also an advisory member of the Northern Automotive Alliance Board. Clare has spent the last three years working as procurement specialist for a major UK automotive OEM focused on supply market research and cost modelling for capital equipment categories.
